What are You Waiting For?

Have you ever thought about how much time we spend waiting?

  • We wait for the alarm to go off in the morning to tell us when the awake part of our day should begin
  • We wait for the coffee to be ready to drink
  • We wait for the water to warm before we step into the shower
  • We wait in line at the grocery store
  • Okay, well you get the picture, I'm sure.

Sometimes we know exactly what we're waiting for and other times we have no idea what is ahead of us. I particularly enjoy waiting for 'something' to happen and trying to avoid expectations. How difficult is this, though?

It is more human to envision the future, think about the past and sometimes even stop and enjoy the present.

Is your prayer life spent in hopeful waiting, with high expectations or simple open heartedness?

With a Goal in mind
For Comfort
To Connect with God
For Hope

Today I stopped to enjoy the day. It is raining, but since we're in a draught, the rain is particularly beautiful. My prayer for today was about thankfulness-a simply acknowledgement of the beauty with gratitude. How perfect is that?
