
Well, my avid readers and new readers alike: If you don't already know it, you'll soon learn that I love to walk. I've never been a runner, perhaps because of my body type. I'll just let it go at that. I love walking because it is
Good for my Body
Keeps me in nature more than I would otherwise
Gets those good hormones (endorphins) flowing
and Basically just keeps my day in balance
If you haven't adopted the practice of walking, consider starting-even if little by little and step by step. Walking is an important part of a balanced life. You can even take your meditative practice to the streets! This is called meditative walking, mindfulness walking, and prayerful walking.
However you choose to fit walking into your day, start with good shoes. Your body needs the support.
Choose an appealing route and try to alter your route a bit to avoid getting bored.
Do you like music? I do, and I love my little MP3 player. There really is Joy in Music! I listen to books on tape, dance music, oldies, mellow stuff... It all depends on my mood.
Drink plenty of water. Very important!
